My daughter has extremely curly hair and it gets dry and knotty very easily! By using a few products daily, I ensure she has hydrated and tangle free hair, every day!

So how do you keep your toddlers hair free of tangles? Well I trust and use Dove Nutritive Solutions. Her hair is what we call “Thirsty”. Her curls need to be hydrated constantly or her hair will just be a knotty frizzy mess. Knotty frizzy messes are HARD to untangle. The best way to prevent this is by keeping her hair conditioned. We’re sharing our routine with you!

  • Shampoo only 1-2x per week, just conditioner when taking showers in between.
  • Condition DAILY – whether it’s a mist of our hair detangler recipe or some conditioner rubbed on from your hands, it’s a must to keep hair hydrated
  • Brush the knots and maintain – yup, you have to brush. I know they say don’t brush curly hair, but if you don’t it’s just one big knot. I brush her hair every single morning with the detangling spray we make.
  • Don’t brush when dry – more frizz, no good!
  • Bun or Braid – put your hair in a bun or a braid before you go to bed each night. It helps prevent tangles and it’s best if you do pig tail braids if you sleep on your back.

All you need is:

1/4 Cup Conditioner

3/4 Cup Water

Pour into a spray bottle and shake to mix.
Shake before each use.

I really didn’t know what to do with her hair before. In all honesty it went up into a bun for the longest time because I just didn’t want to hurt her by brushing her hair. I dreaded doing her hair, because I never wanted her to get knots. By developing and following this routine she has been KNOT FREE! That makes me one happy mommy and her one happy kiddo! As we made a new batch of detangler today she was hugging and kissing (silly kid!) her Dove Conditioner.

If we happen to miss a day, this is our answer! I put it right on in the bath and let her just play for a few extra minutes while it quenches her hair. Brush as usual and you’re golden!
